Monuments & Sightseeing
- Most museums in India are closed on Mondays and some on Fridays. India Travellers tries to be careful on this (like Taj Mahal is closed on Friday and Red Fort in Delhi is closed on Monday etc).
- Photography is not always permissible at different monuments, and at many places it is permitted only at a fee. There is usually a higher fee for using a video camera. India Travellers guide shall inform you about these at the entrances only.
Tipping
- Tour guides and drivers expect tips depending on the assignments and number of days spent on the tour.
- Tipping to taxi drivers for airport/railway station transfers is not expected.
- In major cities some hotels include service charges on their bills; in such cases tipping is not necessary. Where this is not done, a tip of 5 to 10% is considered good.
- If you feel that tip expectations are unreasonable with anyone who is providing your services on behalf of IndiaTravellers, please contact your trip manager immediately or notify us at the earliest. We like our support staff to be well looked after but same time it has to be reasonable as per the service.
Communication
- India has good telecommunication network coverage. Mobile phones work everywhere though not all the mobile operators are available at all the places or have same coverage. Services might not be available in National parks, certain transit areas in Mountains or boarder areas.
- Internet is also available at most of the hotels in cities or nearby internet cafes. Our local guide will be best source of information if you do not find anything close by.
- If you need a local private number to make/receive important calls during your trip, please contact our office for the possibilities.
