Itinerary Details
Day 01: Arrival Delhi – Train To Chandigarh – Drive To Shimla (120 Kms / 4 Hrs)
Meeting and assistance upon arrival at the Delhi airport, breakfast and transfer to railway station on time to connect to Shatabdi Express train for Chandigarh. Drive to Shimla, the erstwhile summer capital of British pre independence of India and now a thriving hill station and gateway to Himachal.
Day 02: Shimla – Thanedar (80 Kms / 4 Hrs)
Morning tailor made heritage walking tour and visit Viceroy Lodge. We get our inner line permits during this time and we continue to Thanedar. A small orchard town and was the birthplace of apples in India and offers a serene and calm experience. Evening explore local area.
Day 03: Thanedar – Sangla (155 Kms / 5-6 Hrs)
Early morning, optional, visit Saroga forest for trail walk through the forest. After breakfast drive to Sangla Valley. You drive through the breathtakingly beautiful gorges of the greater Himalayas to Sangla valley. This valley is one of the most picturesque valleys in Himachal Pradesh and you stay in beautiful camps by the river.
Day 04: Sangla – Chitkul (26 Kms / 1 Hrs) – Sangla
Today drive is a fascinating one through pine forest and to the valley where you find yourself facing the snow capped Great Himalayas beyond which lies Tibet. Chitkul falls in what once used to be the ‘Silk Route’. Enjoy a walk here slightly going down the path through a pastureland and fields overlooking the Baspa River.
Day 05: Sangla – Kalpa (75 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Besides the amazing close-up view of the Kinner kailash range, Kalpa also offers a wonderful walk to Rogi – just four kms one way. One can also shop here or in Recong Peo for the famous Kinnauri shawl or dry fruits.
Day 06: Kalpa – Tabo Via Nako (200 Kms / 8 Hrs)
Drive to Tabo via Nako. The Tabo terrain will leave you breathless and speechless. Rock-hard Desert Mountains, torrential rivers and icy cold winds account for the sparsely populated villages.  Visit Tabo Gompa (10,500 ft.), founded in 996 A.D. Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images.
Day 07: Tabo – Pin Valley (45 Kms / 2 Hrs) – Tabo
Visit Dankar Gompa (3870 M) a masterpiece of local architecture and Pin Valley, now a declared National Park and is located in the cold desert region of the Spiti valley. With its snow laden and unexplored higher reaches and slopes, the Park forms a natural habitat for a number of endangered animals including the Snow Leopard and Siberian Ibex. A visit to the Pin valley makes you wonder if anything can be this remote.
Day 08: Tabo – Kaza (60 Kms / 2 Hrs)
Morning we do a short drive to Kaza. Visit Ki Monastery (4116M) which dominates the Ki village and the Spiti Valley. We also visit two of the world’s highest habitable villages Kibber (4270M ) and Gete (4205M). From Ki, a scenic drive takes you to Kibber, a small village. Further up, 6 Kms from Kibber, we drive up to a still smaller village of Gete. Enjoy the spectacular views of Spiti valley.
Day 09: Kaza – Manali (215 Kms / 7hrs)
Today is last day of long drive but nothing can be more fascinating than a drive through the awe-inspiring Spiti valley from Kaza to Kunzum La. From Kunzum La you get a most outstanding panoramic view westward towards Lahaul.  We continue to Manali via Rohtang pass (3980 M).
Day 10: Manali – Easy Day
Morning we do little local sightseeing including Hidamba temple and can go upto Solang which is famous for its ski slopes and paragliding in summer. Evening we visit local Market.
Day 11: Manali – Dharamsala (240 Kms / 7-8 Hrs)
Today drive to Dharamsala. Enroute visit Bajnath temple and rural India. We arrive late afternoon and in evening we visit the Dala Lama temple and do Kora Walk (A Religious walk around the temple and residence of His Holiness Dalai Lama) During the walk you can see old buddhist monks and nuns doing prayer and chanting Mantras.
Day 12: Dharamsala
Morning visit Norbulingka (A Tibetan Centre of learning traditional art and craft). Visit Losel Doll Museum and different workshops of Thangka paintings, Wood Craft, Statue making etc in Norbulingka. India Travellers arrange for a Cookery Demonstration around lunch time and lunch with a local family. Later visit Bhagsu nag village, Tibet Museum etc.
Day 13: Dharamsala - Amritsar ( 180 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Morning we go to Dharamkot to visit Tushita Meditation Centre for an hour long introduction talk on Tibetan Buddhism. Do meditation. Around noon we drive to Taragarh. Evening visit Wagha boarder to experience the flag hosting ceremony which is held with pomp between Indian and Pakistan forces.
Day 14: Amritsar – Fly to Delhi
Morning visit Golden Temple, the most visited tourist attraction of Amritsar. The stunning sanctum, shimmering in the water of the holy tank, flanked by spotlessly clean marble walkways and pavements makes it breathtakingly beautiful. Take a guided tour of Jalianwala Bagh and transfer to airport for flight to Delhi.
Day 15: Delhi – Fly Onwards
Tailor made full day tour of Old and New Delhi, including the Red Fort, the Jama Masjid the Presidents Palace (exterior), India Gate and then visit to historical monuments of Humayun’s Tomb. Evening at leisure and transfer to airport for flight onwards.
